Collections and exhibitions
The Toivo renovation exhibitionintroduces the building materials and methods traditionally used in Finnish timber construction as well as the current best available materials and methods used for renovating old wooden buildings. In addition to the exhibition in the main house, the yard buildings Piharivi and the Verstas workshop and Korsman House are each examples of wooden building renovation and furnishing at its best. |

In Korsman House,two rooms and a kitchen have been renovated and furnished to resemble a 1950s home in Pori. Here, our younger visitors can get a picture of what their grandparents' homes were like when they were young. The house residents are a fictional Pori family from the year 1951.

Cultural Heritage EducationOne of the main tasks of Toivo and Korsman House is to pass our cultural heritage on to our younger generation. School age visitors are invited to learn and explore and even to try their hand at some of the typical daily chores of the 1950's.
